Whatever your goals, you will need good English skills to get there. Employers tell us that they need people with good writing and language skills and we can help you to improve these through a variety of courses and qualifications.

If you are attending college and you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, we need to know if you have gained a C grade or above in English or English Language at school. If you have not reached a C grade yet, then you will continue to study, either by taking your GCSE in English Language or by developing your skills by studying for a Functional qualification at one of 5 different levels. Classes will be part of your timetable on the 3 main campuses, so that we can support you to reach your goals.

19 or over

If you are 19 or older, either on a college course or looking for a part time adult course to brush up your English skills, we have a variety of options for you right across the county. We offer both GCSE and Functional English classes at a wide range of levels.

Functional Skills are the essential skills vital for adults to participate in life, learning and work. Our courses provide you with good communication skills in reading, writing, speaking/listening and the ability to use these skills in everyday situations. Functional courses can be used as preparation for GCSEs and are available at a full range of levels.  We offer classes during the day and evening, in accessible venues across Oxfordshire.  All classes are free if you don’t already hold a C grade or above at GCSE in this subject and we can find the right qualification for you. Groups are friendly and focused on learning.
